These sheds are not like the sheds you will find at your local garden centre. They are constructed from 34mm interlocking pine logs with double glazed windows, and a quality glazed door with cylinder lock.
Erecting a shed is simple. The tongue and grooved pine logs slot together. All you need to assemble the walls is a hammer. (However you will need a saw to cut the roof and floor boards to length.)
The shed is placed on concrete plinths. You will be sent a drawing showing the layout of the plinths before the cabin is delivered.
A video of a Skalman being assembled can be seen on the Assembly Videos page.
The pine logs are untreated. Once erected we recommend the application of two or three coats of a quality preservative such as Butinox.
The floor is tongue and groove pine floorboards over joists.
The shed roof is tongue and groove boarding. It has a self adhesive mineral felt covering (supplied). The roof is strong enough to accommodate roof tiles if desired (not supplied).
Skalman sheds come with a glazed door with a cylinder lock. The window location is not pre cut, simply cut an opening where you would like a window.
Nails and screws are not supplied. Always use galvanised nails.
